Summer Flowers

Happy weekend to you! I thought I would share a little photo editing I did. I took a photograph of this lovely yellow flower I saw. The first photo is with the flower unaltered.

The second image I softened the focal and focused on the center of the flower and added a texture overlay.

I used the textures on Picnik this time. I put the photo and text in my frame on my Photo Shop.

I thought I would post this here in case you didn't visit my other site. I love summer for the lazy mornings Sammie and I get to have together. I can't believe fall is right around the corner! Can you?
What things will you miss about summer?

Able to Post Again.... Hello Dear Friends

This is how I feel about all you creative dears who have stayed with me; (sorry to say I lost a few due to the Blogger crash situation and being unable to post until now)
You are creative friends for life!

Has Blogger finally gotten this fixed so I can at least post a little until my new site is up? Lets see how far I can get and get you caught back up to what I am up to.*still no access to dashboard!

These  past few weeks have been filled with a test web site / blog. I moved my craft blog now off Blogger and am off to a good start on a self hosted domaine. All you crafty, creative & those loving inspired living drop by for some inspiration & join up! DearCreatives.com  is where I have been posting since the blogger crash once I had it up and running.

* Blogger isn't letting me upload mulitple pics via computer yet :(

Now I have the task of creating a new site for this blog and all the details of that. Since I now know I can do a lot of it on my own (thanks to doing my craft site first). Yes, I am still going to move platforms. After this experience I can't see any other options. I will keep you posted with all that. It is a bit down the road before all is said and done. I have lots of things I need to plan for the process. It is never a small feat to deal with all that when not trained in html.

A little travel A lot of photography! Can't wait to share!

Creatively this summer I have been off and on again with  art and projects. I have done some photo editing, lots of photography, sewing,  a little journal page here and there..... and of course some travel. I loved our trip to Lake Tahoe and have many photographs to share later.

I am hoping for one weekend trip and maybe a visit to see the older kids prior to Sammie's back to school which is right around the corner. I never write this much, please forgive me. I just feel like I am catching up with you dear friends and can't wait to get back to visiting too!

Until next time with photography, a journal page or art which I will be sharing, fingers crossed Blogger stays on the good side of me. & I will now post to the forums about the photo upload issues! & hope it gets fixed.
How have all of you been? What have you been up to? Creating...Travel....Reading....Photography? Do catch me up!! xo Theresa

Photo Shop Color and Pattern

White Sage

I managed to get back to working in Photo Shop I am still in the learning curve stage, but thankfully some things are coming back since the last times I worked on some images with textures and frames. So here are some examples of Photo Shop work I played with and outcomes.

* Images can be clicked on & enlarged

White Sage with texture over image

You can see the photographs look very different by changing the effects and textures. I have come across a website with a series 31 days to a better photo. Darcy has all kinds of tips and some with Photo Shop. You can visit her here for the series @ 3Boybarians.

Color Palette Inspiration

I took these photographs of the white sage blooming before we were going to cut off the flower tops to spur growth of the white sage plant & shared it when I did a post on purple and green back on May 26th. You can see the original photograph here.

Pattern made with color inspiration

I hope you are finding a  little creative time in between all your goings on this summer. I have a few new photos I will be working on in other colors, but they needed more work prior to sharing. This is the last week of swim lessons & piano for Sammie and then we are free to travel. I will post when I am going.

Do you have a favorite Photo Shop or Photography web site you like? What is your favorite color?

Flowers Wedding Flowers & Flower Photography

Dearest blogging friends, I hope this finds you well. I have been so busy and not meaning to take such a long break but, I have had things that have needed my attention. A dry run for the wedding flowers was done, I spent some time with Sammie on spring break and then I set to organizing around here. As I mentioned before I have my eldest daughter's wedding coming up this month. Check lists are getting done, new items and projects being added. So my artwork has been set to the side for the moment, yet I am managing to stay creative in helping with the wedding. I managed to take some flower photographs of some of our wedding choices.

Today I did take the time to alter some of photographs that I took of the wedding flowers we are choosing for the table top arrangements and played with them giving them some textures and such, but ever so lightly so you could see the beauty of these flowers. Top of the list are the beautiful blooms that May has to offer. Lilacs on their stems, Ranuculus, Gerbena and Vintage Roses. The wedding flower pallet that Laura chose is a soft pastels, with lavenders, peaches and pinks.

Although you can get Ranunculus in May you have to get them three days ahead to let them open and their heads are smaller, but they are such a beautiful flower, it will be well worth the extra care. The Gerbena Daisy is so beautiful with its big head I would love to grow some to take photographs of as they are simple beauties. I didn't know they are a member of the sunflower family until I was reading about them. Did you know that fact? Then the true wedding flower hits that we chose were the vintage roses in a blush and the Lilacs on their stems. The smell of these beauties is soft, fragrant and colors are a beautiful. They all lasted well over a week with changing the water and feeding them.

As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life. John Lubbuck

More wedding flower prettiness to come and I am going to try post a little art work later this week, but wanted to let you know what I am up to.
What are your favorite May or wedding flowers? What projects are you working on? I'd love to know~

Cherry Blossoms Photography

It has been gloomy, pouring rain and down right cold. But I managed to take my camera outside on this very crisp day just before the rain and take some photographs of my neighbors blooming cherry tree. The blossoms are big and beautiful. I used a bokeh of hearts in the back ground and a vintage tint to add a slightly aged  effect, then added the words spring love.

In this photograph I just added text. The beauty of the pink against the blue and the dark branches are a sight to behold.

This is the same image as the first only no tint to make it look aged.

This is towards the base of the tree. She just wants to bloom and to grow even by where she was once pruned. I love the pinks against the gray of the fence and the bark of the tree.

I have more photographs to share with you another day! I also worked on a journal page but not sure if I am  happy with it. I have painted three things that aren't sitting well with me. Maybe I should clean up my table space and it will help me see clearer or maybe my creative juices are needing some sunshine. Either way today I will be straightening up and then painting. lol
Do you ever just keep working on projects until you just run out of room? What's on your creative agenda today?

Photography Faded

Oh hello friends! Yes I have been spending quite a bit of time on the computer with Photo Shop. But since I haven't mastered it some of the work was done via Picnik. Like the first image. I just put overlays of faded text and added the brick background to my image. The second image I did in Photo Shop it was quite bright and the white flowers just pop but since I am playing along with Inspiration Avenues prompt Faded I gave it a faded overlay. And the third image I just took most of the color out and again faded it. So today I am feeling since its pouring rain here and I am on computer overload, I just might have to paint this afternoon and take a break from the computer!
Oh and a bit of news I am excited to say I have done a blog redo with the help of  Kaelah. So if you read this blog from a reader or just haven't visited in awhile from other places I hope you pop on over and let me know if you like it! More news and changes coming soon!
Oh and speaking of faded...my favorite faded item is my jeans.  What is your favorite faded item?
