In My Garden on Canvas

In My Garden~

I took a class from Monica Zuniga at Hands and Hearts ning web site. Her video's and work are quite amazing. This is my take on what she was teaching. I love incorporating new facets and techniques to my work. It challenges me to stretch when you work at making something your own from the teachings of someone with such talent. I am tempted to wax this painting to continue the dreamy affect for the finish, but I haven't decided for sure what finish I will use. When my mom was alive she gave me a book "Affirmations For Artists" by Eric Maisel. I dedicate this painting to her memory~ As one of the things she wrote in the cover to me was to keep using your talent~If she were here now I would thank her for believing in my dreams and aspirations ~ "I paint not by sight but by faith" Amos Ferguson

Charmed By Halloween

Ghosts and WitchesMy second digital artwork via Polyvore
Halloween is just around the corner. Whether you believe or not it can be a magical time of year. From changes in the season to looking at the history of Halloween for inspiration and a bit of fun. For me I do believe you can do things to improve what comes to you in life. Using vision boards, writing down what things you desire, using the power of intention and positive thinking~ I could go on but, I will do some posts on those topics at a later date. I did this post for several other reasons.
1.To share a web site easy to use to make digital art and post to your blogs. 2. I love Halloween
3. I do believe in the magic & had to share *good luck spell (not witchcraft)

Believe me I am always looking for magic when it comes to using anything tech driven to improve the look of my blog, my posting or just learning more about digital art! The Witches Tale is my first try at the digital work and I did it at Polyvore.com (it is at the bottom of my blog) ~ I will be participating in some Halloween fun and will be posting other art and links to those sites so you can join in the fun too! It is great fun to see what everyone does creatively in Blog parties. So drop by soon and see what is brewing~

*Good luck spell ~
Spells for generating luck are important, because they cover most of the good things we desire. One way to generate luck is to compile a "Book of Fortune." To begin, list your blessings in a blank book— striving to come up with 999 things that have been lucky for you. Even in an uneventful life, there are little serendipities—things found, recoveries made. Include emotional riches, such as each relationship you have enjoyed, memories of special occasions, and help you received from others. Also, write down your achievements and other good qualities. When you have counted 999
blessings, you can expect some special stroke of luck. However, your luck will increase well before that, because with every sentence you will be affirming the fact that you do have blessings. You can recite lines from this book as part of rites to strengthen your own spirit of luck. Generating Luck Spell by: Janina Renée

Petite Marie Stylized Marie Antoinette Almost Completed

Her hair has some raised textures created using Golden's Molding Paste, I tried to bring out the details of that with colored pencils over paint~
Petite Marie has a cake and a pheasant in her hair on the left side an embellishment that isn't showing up in the photograph~
Detailing on the dress~ Some glitter and pearlized buttons~

Petite Marie has not been waxed yet and I may add a few defining details prior to that but overall I am pleased with how she is coming along~ I will try and take some photographs outside in daylight hoping the textural aspects and some other details show more~

Mosaic Monday

Today I am participating in Mosaic Monday at Mary's Dear Little Red House- Her question is what is your favorite color? My favorite color changes, like the seasons~ How can you choose just one favorite color? When the world offers you so many~All I know is that being an artist you live for color and the combinations you can make with it in your works, as seen in photographs and others artwork, quilts, nature and anywhere you can find its loveliness! To view credits for these photographs go to my flickr page and view the gallery I made by clicking on the pictures~

My favorite color changes with the seasons and is most inspired by nature~

Petite Marie Stylized Marie Antoinette

This is the sketch I drew to start the process and her little face~

Petite Marie in progress waiting for the molding paste to dry that is creating her hair~
Pretty pastels give it a vintage feel~
Mixed media can be organized to start but as you start pulling out all the things you want to work with it can get to be a creative mess~
Here are some pastel paints with fuchsia and golds..... What is to come? You'll want to see the transformation and how this takes on a new look. Drop by soon and see her completed! Do you want to make your own? Visit Suzi Blu's Le Petit Academy http://suziblu.ning.com/

Affirmation's

These are journal pages I did about me. It has been awhile since I did these two pages and I feel I need to do some new pages with affirmations on them. I am constantly battling which direction to go in and how I feel about myself and my art work. I need to re clarify my goals for myself personally and professionally. It has been almost one year since I left my job and started a new path for myself which has been centered around my love of art. The quotes below have a lot of meaning to me. I hope they inspire you to follow your dreams.

First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.
Epictetus

Every artist was first an amateur.

Walk softly in the meadow grasses

Walk softly through meadows and grasses respecting nature. They are natures homes and feeding grounds to all small creatures. A beauty to behold. ~Theresa Huse 2009
