This week I decided to play along with Inspiration Avenues prompt "Incognito". I immediately thought of Joan of Arc a French girl born in 1412 and a heroine after she led the French army to several important victories. I can imagine her posing as a man to assert herself to follow her calling. ( above is my journal page) I am not afraid. I was born to do this. ~Joan of Arc
Last weeks Journal prompt was to take a prayer and journal it. I came across this example of an image and Dante's prayer together and thought you might enjoy it~ You can still submit a journal page or writing to Mr. Linky at the bottom of post right here & view the post if you haven't.
Weirena
When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone
I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars
Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
I know this is going to be a busy week for everyone so I decided to have last week's prompt be for two week & you can find prompt and information from the link above.
Hope this finds you well. Will you be staying in town or traveling next week for Thanksgiving holiday? I would love to know~

Great depiction - she looks such a strong woman. I love seeing the variety of avenues that the challenge themes take everyone - I'd never have thought of Joan of Arc but she's perfect for the theme!

Great post!! Loved your piece!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you chose to show Joan on IA. You are right about her. I'm sure she often had to hide her true identity. Your drawing is gorgeous. I am in awe of your talent.
ReplyDeleteFabulous Joan piece!
ReplyDeleteJoan of Arc the ultimite warrior.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great piece for the Inspiration Avenue theme this week. I love the Joan of Arc idea. She is the perfect incognito. Your drawing is beautiful and you have captured her belief and faith that she must have had to accomplish what she did. And then a perfect tie in with the Prayer from Dante. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your kind words and taking the time to post your comments! I am so glad I got the chance to play along in last weeks challenge @ IA and visit everyone seeing the different take on the theme. Quite amazing~ I hope you are able to have a creative moment with all the preparations going on this coming week. Have a happy & creative week. Don't forget if you create a page for last weeks prompt to post it!
