Happy Holidays!

Hello I have not forgotten you or my art journal. Things have been just a bit busy around with life, helping with homework, preparing for the holidays and my daughter Krissy having a baby! Also opening the shop.Yes, it is open!

Not fully loaded or arranged the way I want quite yet but I am learning to navigate my way through & hope to be adding more soon. I hope you can take a peek. Know if there is some print of a work you have seen here or on Flickr that I created and you would like,  most likely I can have it made for you so just ask me! As I am still working on recovering files which has slowed having prints listed! But I have started to list original work & some handmade items. Lots more coming soon! Including supplies and other things later after Jan. 1st.

In case you missed this from last year a journal page I painted. It is a free download for you to create a holiday journal page, or letter to someone *even Santa for your personal use only please. & you may share it!

Now, I will be around on and off but not really back to blogging until after the holidays since last night Krissy had her baby boy! He was 9lb 2oz ! He & his mom are doing well. We will be going and helping on and off throughout the holidays. If you have Facebook you can see him on my personal page!

Photography & Color Inspiration

Hello everyone, I am sharing  a photograph I had taken and altered it into a snapshot frame then added a quote. I have been trying to play around with Photo Shop again. I am also sharing other photographs, color palettes and color inspiration. I have been doing a bit of dreaming and wishing lately. You can see why below.

Image will go to full size if you click on it.

Feel free to use either of my snapshots with quote on your blogs if you like but, just credit back to me and keep to the creative common terms. I also put a link to my Flickr where there is code for using too.

I thought I would share the image above with my color inspiration. I have flowers on my mind, my palette is called  blushing rose. I have to take a trip soon to Northern Ca. as I am doing the flowers for my oldest daughter's wedding which is coming up quicker than ever! First they announce the engagement, then it is the planning, although it seems far off..... Its kind of a hurry up and wait things, then wow it is only 1 1/2 months away!!!!

So much to do all of a sudden. We are going to a flower wholesaler to get supplies and doing some test arrangements, finding out what will be in season from a list of likes from the bride, pre-ordering things that won't be available from the grower. Then several days prior we get all the goods to prepare for the event. Thank goodness my son's lovely lady and my second youngest daughter are going to help! I hope this gives me some good blogging images! If I have time to take photographs. lol

HAND IN HAND IS THE ONLY WAY TO LAND

This image I just loved due to the fact of the flying wishes! I just love wishes. When you were a kid did you gather them up, make your wish and then blow them into the air? I remember as kids saying they really had to get flying away or your wish wouldn't come true. Well, the colors, wishes and dreamy look of this image just spoke to me. Plus the title Hand In Hand. Then I created  my color palette Wishful dream which  I made over at ColourLovers.

Lastly, Sammie's science experiment was due today. So we helped her finishing up details then hauled the display and tank of  hatched brine shrimp over for set up this morning. Whew! I'll try and take a picture tonight of my little scientist with her display to share. That's what caused my Sunday post to be so late.

I hope you have time to take a look at the post where I shared two journal pages believe and a creative journey along with the prompt. The post was featured on Creating The Hive. If you are a member send over a friend invite, its just another great place to connect in a lovely online artist community.

Simply Sunday "Free Journal Prompt"

I am sharing a calendar I made with you in mind that has my photography and artwork on it. I hope you enjoy it. It is at a file sharing site and will make it easy to use or share. I hope you enjoy it! PS. my newsletter is ready to send out this week, so if you are wanting to receive it hurry & sign up is on the sidebar. It is bi monthly and has images, links and inspiration~

This weeks Journal Prompt* Scan some flowers from your garden and then you have a photograph that you can add to your journal. You could even dry some flowers and paste them in and write a little about nature.
Here is a link to how to capture an image without using a camera from Gardening Gone Wild they have some amazing examples and also a contest going on in October!
I am definitely going to have to give this a try as I love flowers and the images I have seen from their web site ~

Also don't forget I still have a fall link up so if you have any Autumn or Halloween items / posts be sure to drop your link in! I put the link on the side bar for easy access~ Lets inspire others and show them what we are creating.
Are you decorating for fall yet? Creating any fall inspired art work? Doing any fall inspired photography?

Altered Journal Page "A Mother's Love"

resize in flickr Rubber Stamp Credit Woman in Repose Suzanne Nicoll
I took a photograph of my journal page and altered it in a photo program. I added purple as it represents royalty. I wanted to share this with you early in case you like it and want to journal some thoughts and share it with your mom~
You are welcome to download and print this as a card, photograph or page to write your thoughts for your moms or just for a personal journal page. You may use a program to change the colors for yourselves if you wish. Get creative. If you change it I would love to see what you create! Please leave me a comment with your link! You may use it for personal use only~ You may share on your blogs if you wish but credit back to me here with a link. Thank you~
I may do a pretty vintage page later to share. I will see what I am feeling up to.
I have new art work and posts coming once I am over this cold/flu bug!
